A child’s bedroom is usually the last part of the house that mums want to tackle. It is quite often the messiest as kids can accumulate lots and lots of clutter including toys, books, scrap paper and clothes.
Getting it organised can be tricky and keeping it organised even harder.

Book shelves
Book shelves are a must if your child has lots of books and magazines. Either invest in a proper book shelf or secure shelves to your child’s bedroom wall. It will help to keep them off the floor and will also mean your little one will be able to see them and find the book he or she wants without too much difficulty.

Clothes
Make sure your child has both a closet and chest of drawers in their room. A closet is handy for dresses, jumpers and trousers while the chest of drawers will be perfect for teeshirts and tops. Make sure you throw away old, worn clothes and give each item of clothing a particular place such as an underwear drawer.

A desk
You child doesn’t need much furniture apart from a bed, chest of drawers and a desk, depending on their age. A desk is handy for keeping pens, pencils and paper organised. It also means they will be able to start their homework without much hassle knowing that all the tools they need are there ready for them.

Toys
Toys are an inevitable part of your child’s life and will no doubt take up more than half of their room. You need to be organised to avoid a build up of toys that they may have grown out of. Stacked plastic drawers, baskets, plastic buckets and tubs are great to keep your kid’s room organised. Label them correctly so your child won’t have to open every single one when they are looking for something.

Art wall
If possible, designate one wall in your child’s room to hanging their artwork. It will mean you won't have paintings and pictures on the floor and uner the bed.

Lots of space
Don’t overload your child’s room with too many items as they will need room to be able to play. Make sure there is enough space in the middle of the room for them to play.
