It may have seemed like she glided through the nine-month journey, but Cheryl has revealed that pregnancy was no easy feat for her.
The 34-year-old, who welcomed son Bear in March of this year, opened up about her difficult time in an interview with The Sun.
“I hated being pregnant. A lot of stuff went on, and I just didn’t enjoy it,” she admitted.
Perhaps this explains why she stepped out of the spotlight, only making a handful of red carpet appearances during her pregnancy.
As testing as the nine months was for the Fight For This Love singer, it was all worth it in the end.
“It changes your life completely, but in the most amazing way. I’ve had the best six months of my life, really,” she gushed.
Cheryl welcomed little Bear Grey with her boyfriend, One Direction star Liam Payne.
Given that Liam previously said he would have opted for a more traditional name for the tot, it’s interesting to hear exactly why Cheryl had her heart set on ‘Bear’.
“I always loved the name, and the midwife always used to come in when he was little – he used to, like, grunt – and go, ‘There’s the little bear, there’s the little bear’,” she recalled.
“And it stuck. It’s just his name, and I wanted a unique name.”

Pregnancy rumours first began circulating last year, in the summer, when Cheryl stepped out at a L’Oreal event sporting what looked like the first hints of a baby bump.
While the star never officially confirmed the news, there was no hiding that glorious bump in November, when she and Liam made a loved-up red carpet appearance.
News of Bear’s birth was finally announced on March 25, when the couple shared beautiful photos on their Instagram accounts.
New mum Cheryl described her new son as ‘an incredibly beautiful’ boy, who arrived into the world ‘looking like a dream’.
“We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival,” she added.
