The Hills girls have certainly grown up, with Lauren Conrad, Whitney Port and Heidi Montag all expecting babies.

And although Whitney is delighted to be having a baby, she’s struggling with being pregnant and has gone so far as to say she “hates” it.

Whitney, 32, and her husband Tim Rosenman recently began a pregnancy video blog on YouTube entitled “I love my baby but I hate being pregnant” where she opened up about her experience of pregnancy.

The reality star and fashion designer said she was “freaked out” and “not sure if she was fully ready” when she first found out she was pregnant. However she soon became excited about the prospect of becoming a mum.

Whitney explained that she didn’t know enough about morning sickness or a lot of the symptoms of pregnancy. She said she’d felt “sick all day” and experienced severe stomach pains also.

During one video, it's clear Whitney is finding pregnancy tough as she's seen lying in bed in her dressing gown feeling ill.

She also found that she was having feelings which conflicted with her idea of pregnancy. "I thought pregnancy was this exciting, beautiful, wonderful, magical thing, until I experienced my own, and it wasn't all of that," she said.

"I was feeling all these negative feelings. I thought, 'What's wrong with me?' Why aren't I more excited? ' "

She said “I couldn’t force myself to feel excited because of how gross I felt.”

Whitney said it was difficult to tell others how she felt about being pregnant, particularly her own mother. "Obviously, hate is a strong word and really polarizing," Whitney, told TODAY.

"I got some backlash from my mom, who is very sensitive to how I'm dealing with my pregnancy, and it upset her."

"But I am very candid and honest about the fact that the pregnancy, both physically and emotionally, has not been an easy process for me," she continued.

"Dealing with the extra hormones and being very sensitive to everything and feeling outside pressures. And physically, with my changing body, not having control over that... morning sickness, exhaustion, aversion to food, broken blood vessels, bloody noses. All of these things that are not very fun."

Whitney doesn’t have many “mom friends” at the moment who could advise her on pregnancy, saying: “I didn’t know what I was in for at all.”

However that’s all about to change, now both her friend Lauren Conrad and Hills co-star Heidi Montag are also expecting bundles of joy.

She decided to start her vlog to share her personal experiences of pregnancy with other mums-to-be who might feel the same way.

She’s currently 16 weeks pregnant and is documenting her symptoms and feelings in each video as her pregnancy progresses.

The first trimester can be really tough, we hope Whitney feels a bit better soon.
