People were left concerned for Brad Pitt after his recent interview with GQ Style, in which he spoke candidly for the first time about life after his split from Angelina Jolie. Now, the actor wants to set the record straight.

In a new interview, with Associated Press, the 53-year-old moved to allay any fears that fans may have about the father-of-six.

He said: “I’m not suicidal or something. There’s still much beauty in the world, and a lot of love. And a lot of love to be given. It’s all right. It’s just life.

“I’ve got no secrets. I’ve got nothing to hide. We’re human, and I find the human condition very interesting. If we’re not talking about it, then we’re not getting better.”

Brad’s fresh perspective comes just a month after he revealed that he was working to make a lot of positive personal changes, such as giving up alcohol and starting therapy.

At the time, he insisted that his children with Jolie – Maddox, 15; Pax, 13; Zahara, 12; Shiloh, 10; Knox and Vivienne, both eight – were coming first in the split and divorce proceedings. In the latest interview, he admitted that they are still ‘figuring out the new configuration of their family’.

“Kids are everything. Kids are your life. They’re taking all the focus, as they should anyway,” he added.

Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt last September, citing irreconcilable differences. At the time, claims swirled that the Inglourious Basterds star had been abusive towards eldest son Maddox, which resulted in a reported investigation by the FBI and child protective services.

At the same time, Jolie is said to have filed for full legal custody of the children, which she was granted. Pitt, meanwhile, was granted visitation rights and was ordered to attend therapy.

Needless to say, Pitt’s first post-split interview caused ripples when it was published by GQ. In it, he described his home life as ‘solemn’ but insisted that the former couple’s focus was firmly fixed on their children.

“I heard one lawyer say, ‘No one wins in court’…Fortunately, my partner in this agrees. It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart,” he said.

“I was really on my back and chained to a system when Child Services was called. After that, we’ve been able to work together to sort this out. We’re both doing our best.”
