If this story teaches you anything it's to show your children (no matter what age) how to call emergency services.

Roman, a four-year-old boy from Croydon, is, quite rightly, being praised for saving his mother's life after he asked Siri to call 999.

The youngster was at home with his twin brother and younger brother, when his mum fell unconscious.

Not knowing who to call, Roman used the mum-of-three's thumb to unlock her phone before asking it to ring emergency services.

When he got through to an operator, the youngster said that his mum was dead because "she’s closing her eyes and she’s not breathing".

Thankfully, however, within just 13 minutes an ambulance was on the scene after the four-year-old told them where he lives.

"Hearing this call brings home the importance of teaching your young child their home address and how to call police or emergency services in an emergency situation, " Chief Superintendent Ade Adelekan told Metro

"If you do nothing else today, then I’d implore any parents of young children to sit down with them and make sure they know what to do in this kind of situation and that they know how to contact police or other emergency services."
