Kate said the sweetest thing to Princess Charlotte on her first day of school

Princess Charlotte had her first day of school at Thomas’s Battersea in London yesterday and she looked too cute for words in her uniform. We couldn’t quite cope with the photos of Princess Charlotte arriving at the school with her parents, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and her big brother, Prince George.

George, who is entering his second year at the school, looked less than impressed at being back.

The young prince has been attending the London based school since last September so Charlotte will have plenty of support as she settles in.

Kate offered some words of encouragement to Charlotte, who was clinging onto her mum as she walked through the school grounds. The little princess was certainly feeling those first day nerves, but her mum reminded her to lean on George.

Kate was overheard telling Charlotte that, “George will help lead the way.”

The siblings, who are extremely close, often turn to one another for support. A source told People that George and Charlotte rely on each other a lot, especially because there is only one year between them.

Despite her nerves, Prince William told reporters that his daughter was feeling rather excited about starting big school.

The parents shared a darling photo of their son and daughter in their pristine uniforms later in the day. The snap was taken at their home in Kensington Palace just before they left for school.

Princess Charlotte and Prince George look utterly adorable in the official portrait. We can’t handle Charlotte’s cheeky grin.
