Actress Keira Knightley has at long last confirmed what she and husband James Righton named their daughter – Edie.
The 30-year-old shared the news in an interview with ELLE magazine, in which she opened up about how she has been enjoying motherhood.
Describing her experience so far as a mum, the Pirate of the Caribbean star told the magazine: “The love thing is astonishing. It’s a very primal, primal love. That’s quite extraordinary.”
While she may be one of Hollywood’s most famous stars, it seems that parenting has the exact same perks – and downsides – for her.
Addressing the exhaustion that her baby’s sleeping patterns have brought, she added: “It’s not pleasant – I never thought that I could actually do it for the amount of time that I’ve done it.”
She also added that while pregnancy and motherhood may have made her ‘hate certain parts of her body’ at times, it has also given her a new appreciation of what it can do.
She said, rather animatedly: “You go through pregnancy and labour and then feeding the kid and you go, ‘Wow, my body is totally amazing, and I’m never going to not like it again, because it did this, and this is f***ing extraordinary.’”
