Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park is full of white knuckle rides with names like Stealth (Europe's fastest roller coaster), Colossus, Nemesis Inferno, Detonator and Vortex. X: No Way Out, affectionately known as "blackwards", is the world's only backwards in-the-dark roller coaster.

 

With rides like these you'll know what it feels like to be propelled 205ft in the air and to go from 0 to 80MPH in under 2 seconds. Kids love it - one 13-year-old fan of the Stealth ride notched up 49 goes in one year. Swirling, diving and corkscrewing scream-athon rides are for strong-stomached, adrenaline junkies only. But there are also plenty of less hair-raising things for smaller visitors to do across the 50-acre site.

 

Loggers Leap is a comparatively gentle journey, splashing down to give riders a watery soaking while leisurely boating trip, the Rumba Rapids, is reassuringly less white water and more leisurely boating trip.
