About

You are welcome to stay the whole day. At a minimum we recommend you allow between a couple of hours to half a day to get the most from your visit and fit in a few of our popular and informative keeper talks. There is much to gain by taking more time to observe these wonderful animals.

Animal Enclosures
All our animals live in settings that reflect their natural environment. Much of the area is outdoors, although there are plenty of undercover areas such as The Barn, The Hedgerow, the Nocturnal House and our observation Badger Sett. There is much to see at any time of the year and most animals will be out and about whatever the weather.

Keeper Talks
We have keeper talks every half an hour to give you a further opportunity to learn about the animals, so whenever you visit there is sure to be something to see. These are highly recommened. Don't miss them!

Photography
There are plenty of opportunities for photography, from simple snaps to that perfect shot of interesting animal behaviour. If you are a keen amateur photographer, you might like to try one of our photography days, which include access inside selected enclosures.

Pip's Corner Children's Activity Area
Our wildlife themed activity area allows young children to let off some steam, with activities such as building a heron's nest, exploring an underground badger sett, climbing up and sliding down an otter bank, testing their 'red squirrel skills' and more. The activities are suitable for children aged 3 to 6.

Visitor Centre
This is the start of your visit and a convenient place to escape to if the weather takes a turn for the worse. It houses our Wildlife Gift Shop and Coffee Shop.

Wildlife Gift Shop
Our gift shop can provide a memento of your visit, or gifts for friends and family. We have a range of wildlife related items to suit all budgets, including pocket money toys and stationery for children.

Coffee Shop
We serve hot and cold drinks, baked potatoes, sandwiches, wraps, snacks, cakes and confectionery to keep you going.

Picnic Areas
You can bring your own lunch, have a snack or simply take a break in one of two outdoor picnic areas.
