Home of Rest for Old Horses

During your visit you’ll meet many of the residents including a number of retired tram horses who used to work on the Horse Drawn Tram Service along the Douglas Promenades.

 

You’ll also be able to get up close to the animals by feeding them - the onsite shop sells bags of horse feed or you can bring a spare apple or carrot!

 

Once you’ve met the residents you can find out more about their history by visiting the museum, enjoy refreshments at the cafe and take home a souvenir from the gift shop.
