Willen Lake and Park

Willen Lake is Milton Keynes’ most popular park.  Over one million visitors a year take part in watersports activities, go cycling, enjoy the playground, play mini-golf, try the high ropes course or simply picnic along Willen’s shores.  It’s a great place to entertain all ages of family and friends, whether it’s a visit to the café or restaurant, a stroll, trying a beginners’ course in sailing or hiring a pedalo or bike.

 

The park is open year round and there is no admission fee, other than during special events when some areas may be unavailable to the general public, or a fee may be charged. Note that car parking charges apply.

 

In addition to the great activities at Willen Lake footpaths and cycleways connect the south lake to the north lake which is a haven of tranquility. Home to the Peace Pagoda and mini stone circle the north lake is a quiet place for contemplation and relaxation. For wildlife enthusiasts it attracts an amazingly rich and varied bird population and a great place to appreciate the changing seasons.

 

Other ‘don’t miss’ attractions at Willen Lake include Aerial Extreme, the biggest high rope adventure course in the South of England, and WakeMK, one of the UK’s largest cable wakeboard and waterski centres.

Refreshments

The one4six café offers a range of delicious Paninis, sandwiches, cakes, hot and cold drinks and is open every day. You can find the café near the mini bowl and between WakeMK and the children’s play area. There are seats in the café as well as plenty of picnic benches and tables outside if you prefer to eat al fresco.
