LolliBop, the much-loved kiddie festival, is making a return to Regent’s Park this summer. When MummyPages first read about this event, we couldn’t believe the amount of fun events being held, so we cannot wait to bring our own little ones to the festival. The event is taking place between August 17th and 19th and is ideal for kiddies under the age of 10.

The ‘LolliBop Live’ stage will play host to some of the biggest names in kids’ entertainment. There will be performances from ZingZilla’s, Jassa Aluwahlia (Art Attack) and The Mr Men & Little Miss Party Roadshow. TV favourites Dick and Dom will also be entertaining the crowds and Shrek the Musical will be making a special appearance on the Sunday with a performance from the award-winning show.

The story of The Gruffalo will be brought to life in the Lollipaladioum and CBeebies favourite, Mister Maker will be demonstrating his arts and crafts skills. Other headline attractions include yoga sessions with Waybuloo, workshops by Horrible Histories, Roald Dahl Museum and Storytelling Centre, an Alice In Wonderland tea party and a chance to meet ‘Tiny’, a 125 million years young dinosaur. Little boys are going to love the new life-size Transformer Optimus Prime Truck, which will give fans the chance to get up close to the movie legend.

A new addition to the LolliBop festival is the ‘LolliBop Kitchen’ where kiddies will have the chance to learn new skills from live demonstrations and interactive workshops. There will also be a new ‘Tween Town’ area for older kids where there will be street dance, hula-hooping, magic and beat-boxing workshops, plus an older arts and crafts tent and a laser room.

Halfords will create a bespoke Bike City which will include a Wacky Races obstacle course for under 5’s, where kids can try out the brand new range of Balance and Apollo kids bikes. There will also be a BMX stunt display and demo area for the older kids.

Also new to the festival is ‘LolliBop Animal Curiosities’ which will feature a polar bear, a dinosaur, and gorillas. ‘The Disco Shed’ will have mini boppers showing off their best dance moves while ‘The Village Green’ is the perfect place to chill out and enjoy some street theatre.

The Science Museum will be returning to Regent’s Park with an expanded area and dedicated Science Zone. The ‘3ft & Under’ area is also coming back and confirmed activities include a mini disco, tiny play, little arts, baby ballet, yoga, teddy bears picnic and sing and sign. Other favourites returning this year include ‘LolliSports’, ‘Imagination Station’, ‘Itsy Bitsy Strictly’ and ‘The Enchanted Forest’.

To make life easier for mums, there will be two ‘boob and botty boudoirs’ this year and covered buggy parks and lollishade areas are also being created.

And if all that wasn’t enough there will be tradition activities like arts and crafts, face painting and workshops. Food and drink stalls will be set up to recharge your batteries after all the fun.

All of the activities, stages and events are included in the entry ticket price, which starts at £22 per person.
