Tributes have been paid to a ‘loving and caring’ mum who passed away last week, just seven weeks after giving birth.

Sam Billinge died from a ‘mystery illness’ on July 29, leaving her distraught husband Chris and infant son Jack behind.

According to the Mirror, Sam began complaining of feeling ill three weeks after giving birth to Jack, her first child.

She was rushed to hospital last Saturday, after collapsing in her home. Tragically, medics could not save her.

Chris told the publication that she had only been feeding baby Jack 15 minutes earlier.

The cause of Sam’s death is as of yet unknown.

A fundraising page has been launched to support Chris and Jack through this difficult time.

Over on the JustGiving page, family friend Callum Murphy paid tribute to the late Sam.

“Sam was a loving and caring person with an infectious personality to all who knew her,” he wrote.

“Sam will be missed by all, none more so than her soulmate Chris, son Jack, and all her family.”

While a target of £5,000 was initially set, kind members of the public have already managed to raise over £6,000 for Chris and his son.

“The money is to be used however Chris wishes,” he explained.

“It may be used for: her funeral, for financial stability, for help raising Jack, for Jack’s future, or a place of commemoration.”

We are thinking of the family at this tragic time. We hope they are getting the support and love they so badly need at this time.
