Marks and Spencer launches pre-loved uniforms scheme for back to school

Are you looking for ways to ease the financial burden ahead of back to school season? Well, Marks & Spencer is here to help!

The retailer is launching its Shwopping scheme with new dedicated school uniform Shwop boxes in stores across the UK.

Located in the kidswear section, the M&S Back to School Shwopping donation boxes will give families a chance to purchase pre-loved school uniforms in Oxfam shops, as well as being available in a dedicated shop on eBay.

Through this important scheme, M&S wants to ensure that no family is left behind amid the escalating cost of living crisis. Shwopping will allow high-quality school uniforms to be made available to as many families as possible, no matter where they live or how they tend to shop.

Any pre-loved uniforms that are not sold will be recycled or reused, meaning that there will be no waste.

Every pre-loved uniform that is purchased, whether it be in Oxfam shops or the eBay shop, will help to raise funds for Oxfam's fight against poverty, inequality and the effects of climate change worldwide.

And that’s not all! As a huge thank you for Shwopping school uniform items, Sparks customers will receive a 20% discount on selected kids clothing at M&S.

All customers can Shwop any item of school uniform, regardless of where they bought it from or if the uniform features a school badge. The only request is that, before donating them, the pre-loved school uniforms should be clean and of good quality.

The pre-loved items will be launching in both Oxfam shops and on eBay.co.uk from late summer, with the availability of uniforms dependent on how many donations are received.
