A 12-year-old boy from Detroit was reported missing by his father on June 14th. Apparently, Charlie walked out of his house, which he shares with his dad Charles and step-mum, after refusing to do his chores. When he failed to return that night, his dad started to get worried.
After reporting the missing boy to the police, distributing flyers and appearing on the Nancy Grey show, there was still no sign of his son. Police had already searched the house three times but after receiving a warrant to search it again (for reasons unknown), Charlie was finally found hiding behind a barricade in the basement.
Police don’t believe the boy could have made the barricade himself. Charles says he checked the basement several times and denies any wrongdoing. According to him, Charlie came to live with him because he “had some challenges” and was going to need “a whole lot of help”.
We really hope this was just a bizarre accident.
