School mornings are among the craziest time in our house.

From getting the children out of bed, to getting them to school on time, the whole ordeal can be quite the stress-fest.

So, we've put together some of our top tips to help you navigate the morning madness a little better.

1. School clothes
Searching for a school tie while trying to make a packed lunch is the perfect way to get yourself off to a stressful start.

Implement a rule which states all school clothes and uniforms must be laid out the night before and checked before bed-time.

Reward your child with a sticker each time this goes off without a hitch.

2. School lunches
Like school clothes, a little preparation goes a long way.

Make school lunches part of your child's homework plan.

In addition to completing their assignments, they must empty their lunchbox and depending on their age, help you to prepare the following day's snacks.

3. Zero-tolerance homework policy
All homework must be completed the day before

If you allow your children to do their homework over their breakfast cereal, you will guarantee yourself heated arguments and delayed departures - it's just never worth it.

4. Set the breakfast table

Everything is that little bit more difficult in the morning, so why not give yourself a head start?

Set the breakfast table before bed and reap the benefits the following morning - you may be surprised how much it helps.

5. Implement a rewards system

It's important you reward your child for their efforts, especially if you want the system to stay in place throughout the year.

Make a checklist and be sure to put within easy reach of yourself and your little ones.

Every week make a note of their efforts, reward them with a small treat and be sure to pinpoint areas which require improvement.
