Expecting mum Jordin Sparks sadly had to put down her beloved pooch, Miles, today.
The singer's heartfelt post on Instagram about Miles' passing is going to make us cuddle our dogs extra closely tonight.
She shared with her 1.5M Insta followers, "We had to put my favourite boy, Miles, down today. My heart is absolutely broken. He's been a constant companion and source of unconditional love for the past 8 years."
The American Idol winner continued, "He was more than a pet, he was my friend. It sounds crazy but it's true. I think of the past eight years and he's in almost every single memory I can conjure up."
Pets really are there for so many significant moments in our lives. Jordin has been making treasured memories lately, as she married husband Dana Isaiah this summer and discovered she was pregnant in late August.
"From triumphs to tears, happiness to heartbreak...he was there," she wrote, "And he always knew if something was up with me. He'd jump up next to me and just lay there and be with me. The sweetest ever."
She ended the caption with, "If you can, please pray for my family and for me. The sadness comes in waves and it's overwhelmingly crushing. RIP Miles I love you so much. I can't wait to see you again...I'll have your ball."
We'll need those tissues now, please.
Fans sympathetically sent the songstress their condolences.

Our hearts go out to Jordin and her family. When we lose a pet, we lose a dear friend as well.
