They were the darlings of the red carpet during their 11-year marriage, but Nicole Kidman has hinted at her regret over her marriage to Tom Cruise.
In an interview with Red magazine, the 49-year-old revealed that, in hindsight, she may not have been ready to take the big step at the tender age of 23.
“I was so young when I got married. I look back now and I’m like, ‘What?’” she told the magazine, candidly.
The Moulin Rouge star added: “You look at Taylor Swift – I mean, how old is she? She’s 26. I had two kids by the time I was 27, and I’d been married for four years. But that’s what I wanted.”
Kidman and Cruise met on the set of their film Days of Thunder, and exchanged vows in 1990. They went on to adopt two children, Isabella and Connor, before divorcing 11 years later.
The 49-year-old went on to marry country singer Keith Urban in 2006, and she revealed that she is in awe of their 10-year union.
“We’ve been through a lot for 10 years. And we’re stronger than ever. I say that while touching wood, and no way in a boastful way. I just say it with wonder. Absolute wonder,” she said.
Nicole and Keith are, of course, parents to two daughters: eight-year-old Sunday Rose and six-year-old Faith Margaret.
