A nine-year-old boy in Texas really is his mum’s hero, after he saved her life.

Tristan Krone was sitting in the living room with his four younger brothers and baby sister, Serenity, when the unimaginable incident occurred.

Mum Kimberly was standing at the kitchen sink, simply picking up a foil tray, when lightning struck through her ceiling.

The lightning hit the tray and reflected back onto Kimberly’s chest, sending shock waves throughout her body.

Tristan hearing the loud bang ran out to see his mum, who had collapsed on the floor.

After learning how to use a toy phone when he was a tot, Tristan remembered the emergency number 911, grabbing his mums mobile to make the call.

And the clever young boy stayed on the phone for over 16 minutes speaking with emergency services, explaining what had happened.

The emergency dispatcher questioning Tristan asked if his mum was speaking to him, and the young boy responded: "No, but she's breathing."

While Tristan sounded scared at the beginning, he pulled through, remaining as calm as possible until help arrived.

Kimberley shared: "I was amazed at how calm he was in that situation, he's always been a very witty kid, he's extremely smart, so he knew it was an emergency."

"But at how calm he stayed, I was extremely, extremely surprised," added the proud mum.

We are amazed at this young man, he's a little hero.
