A single mum had the BEST solution to ensure her son was included in his school’s ‘Donuts with Dad’ day – she dressed up as a dude!

Texas mum-of-three Yevette Vasquez was driving her son Elijah to school, when she noticed there were more cars in the parking lot than usual. It was then Elijah told her about the dad event, warning her that there were only ten minutes left before the bell rang.

So because she didn’t want her son missing out, Yevette made the decision to zoom home (she lived minutes away) and throw on a ‘dad’ disguise: a dodgy fake ‘tache, a check shirt, a cap and even a dab of men’s aftershave.

That’s attention to detail right there!

And clearly showing the great relationship this mum shares with her son, Elijah even helped her pick out the outfit.

“He was telling me what I should wear,” his mum told CNN. “He kept saying, ‘No, you still look like a girl!’”

For the most part Yevette’s actions were well-received by the other dads.

“Most of the dads thought it was really cool,” she said. “They thought it was really supportive and sweet. I did feel the energy of a few men who weren't as comfortable with it though.”

Pah! Never mind them we say!

Ultimately what Yevette’s actions show, are the length mums will go to make their kids happy.

“I wasn't about to let him miss out,” the spunky mum wrote on Facebook. “I know seeing other dads with their kids isn't easy for mine but it's life.”

We absolutely LOVE this story, and that smiley happy selfie? The best!
