So often, we ask our children how their day at school was, and we get the same mumbled response: fine.
Well, in a bid to get a greater insight into the goings-on of their son’s first day as a first-grader, Tim and May Weber decided to send six-year-old Andrew to school with a GoPro camera.
With the camera attached to his backpack, the Webers were able to get a first-hand account of what the world looks like to a young schoolchild, as well as how they could improve or change the experience for him.
“We thought it was a novel idea…so we could obtain a child’s perspective instead of assuming that we, as adults, know what a child needs,” mum May told ABC News.
While dad Tim was taken aback at just how ‘big’ the other children, teachers, and even the furniture appears to a small child, May said it proved far more fruitful than simply asking “how was your day.”
