An incredible collection of breathtaking photos which depict the wonder of childbirth set the internet alight in recent weeks as members of the public clamoured to gain an insight into the various practices and customs involved in the incredible process.

Owing to the popularity of Leilani Roger's recent collection, it's no surprise that a similar set of photos, which perfectly capture the life-changing moment a number of doting parents finally meet their child for the first time, has had a similar response.

Insistent that the nine-month journey should end with a candid family shot, birth photographer, Marry Fermont, told The Huffington Post: "You can never predict what will happen in this moment. It’s one of the most pure moments in life."

Reflecting on what many new parents consider one of the most surreal moments of their life, Marry, who entitled her collection 'First Moments', acknowledges that dream-like atmosphere, saying: "When a baby is born, it’s like everything happens really fast, but also in slow motion."

Elaborating further still on a moment many of us know so well, she continued: "Like time is standing still, but at the same time so much is happening."

The photographer, who captures one of the most poignant moments in a new family's life, admits that she's honoured to take part.

"To be present at such an intimate moment feels like a privilege and you forget everything that happens around you. Sometimes I shed a tear myself, because you are part of this precious time," she admitted while commenting on her incredible selection of images.

It's hard not to be moved by these tender moments.
