Children in Ralston Primary School in Paisley, Scotland have had to evacuate their school today after a “suspicious package” was found.
Police Scotland were called to the school this morning after someone reported a suspicious package on school property.
“We can confirm that police were called to an incident at a school in Paisley,” said a police spokesman.
“It is believed to have been a malicious call and a search is currently being carried out in conjunction with the local authority.
“Enquiries are continuing to trace whoever is responsible.”
Parents were called and asked to collect their children after the incident with some receiving messages instructing them to collect them from nearby community centres.
The call has now been confirmed as a hoax and all children have returned to school.
