Former Big Brother contestant Jade Goody was just 27 when she died in 2009 from cervical cancer - her two children, Freddy and Bobby, were just four and five at the time.

The boys’ father, Jeff  Brazier, has brought them up on his own since Jade’s untimely passing, and often speaks about how he helps his kids keep the memory of their mother alive.

Today, Friday, 5th June, marks what would have been Jade’s 34th birthday, and Jeff has written a heartbreakingly honest post in his Closer column about how he helps his boys through days like these.

The 36-year-old admits that every year they visit Jade’s “special place” and the boys’ godparents, but this year the father-of-two revealed that when he asked ten-year-old Freddy what he would like to do, all he said was, "I don’t know".

"Usually he would be full of suggestions but on this occasion all he could manage were a few “I don’t knows”.

“It's hard when you know one of these dates are coming up because you know there’s likely to be a lot going on in their heads that they don't always share with you, you kind of have to guess through the way that they express it with behaviour or from waking up at irregular times with unusual ailments [sic]," thThis Morning showbiz presenter wrote in the magazine.

The father finished by saying: “Instead of stressing myself, I’ll concede to helplessness on this occasion as long as I never let him feel alone in the knowledge that I'm all he's got, so I had better be a Dad worth having! You don't need to have all the answers; you just have to be there."
