At some point during their tween years, boys may begin to experience the stages of puberty. Puberty for boys can be a complicated time for both children and their parents. Knowing what to look for will help you and your child to navigate the course just a little easier.  We have listed some of the most common puberty signs:
 
It’s important to know that most of these stages will appear gradually and may take several years before your child has fully completed the stages of puberty. Typically, boys will first begin puberty somewhere between the ages of 9 and 14.
 
Physical changes
  • Appearance of facial hair
  • Shoulders becoming broader
  • Body odour
  • Growth spurts
  • Pimples or facial breakouts
  • Growth of hair in pubic and underarm areas
  • Growth of testicles
  • Wet dreams
  • Voice beginning to break and later deepen
Emotional changes
  • Interest in the opposite sex
  • Mood swings
  • Anxiety or excitement about the changes that he is going through
  • Less willing to talk openly with parents
  • Being nervous or shy around girls
