Any first-time parent will be familiar with the dread and worry that takes over when you leave your little one for the very first time. Indeed, even when they’re being left in the care of your other half, you sometimes can’t help but feel you’re neglecting some important detail.
A like-minded mum decided to tackle this head-on recently, by preparing a very specific set of rules for her husband, while she was out of town for two days.
The detailed note contains every nugget of information the father could possibly need while looking after ‘King Jacob’ – but he had some of his own amendments to add.

The doting dad went on to share his edited version of his wife’s ‘Instructions for Jacob’ to Reddit and, unsurprisingly, it went down a treat on the social networking site.
Among this dad’s tongue-in-cheek additions are queries as to the exact location of Dublin (it’s Ohio, not Ireland) and whether hydrocortisone cream is actually what he has come to refer to as ‘the blue one’.
He also decided to scrap the scheduled ‘Facetime with Mom’ for a session of teaching little Jacob how to play Nintendo!
When it gets to the ‘FAQs’ section, you just know that his own wife is probably in hysterics at this point, too.
