A mother who went missing from a hospital in Harrow, north-west London shortly after giving birth to a baby boy has thankfully been found safe and well.

Anna Chudy, who delivered her son via caesarean section in Northwick Park Hospital on Thursday morning, caused alarm when she was caught on CCTV leaving the hospital the following day.

Having left her newborn son behind, Anna's early departure caused considerable concern among hospital staff and police officials.

Eager to make contact with 35-year-old Anna, police issued a statement appealing to the public for help in the case, explaining: "Officers are concerned for her welfare and are keen to trace her to ensure she is safe and well."

Given the nature of her son's delivery, Anna was expected to spend at least four days under the care of hospital staff meaning her abrupt departure caused considerable alarm to those in authority.

Following a police investigation over the course of the weekend, Anna was located this morning and is understood to be good health.

Releasing a statement earlier today, police said: "Anna Chudy was found safe and well in the early hours of Sunday 18 October."

We're so relieved to hear it.,
