Lacey Harris was outraged and appalled when her young daughter AvaLynn came home from school with her face horrifically swollen and bruised.

AvaLynn had been playing on the slide in her Kindergarten playground, when she says another child kicked her repeatedly in the face.

The poor girl's mum filed a report with the school, and with the police, but as no one witnessed the incident, they are refusing to take any action.

Lieutenant Jim Roe of the Pascagoula Police Department has said nothing “criminal” took place, and that there is no investigation taking place.

"The mother alleges another child kicked her child on the slide," he stated. "Right now, there's no indication something criminal took place. I have spoken with school security and an assistant superintendent is investigating the matter."

Whatever investigation the school launched has not turned up anything however, as the school released this statement.

"A student was injured while playing on the playground at Arlington Elementary School Tuesday afternoon,” the school said.

“The parent was contacted and the student received medical treatment. No other children were involved in the incident. The Pascagoula School District remains committed to the safety of all its students."

Lacey is still fighting for her daughter's attack to be acknowledged, saying she is “fighting for answers and for greater supervision at school."

Lacey is seeking legal help for the issue, and a Facebook page set up in support of the little girl has received nearly 80,000 likes. She has also set up an appeal for donations to help pay for her daughter's medical bills following the incident.
