According to emerging reports, a number of children have been hospitalised after collapsing at the Outwood Academy School on Clotherholme Road in North Yorkshire this afternoon.

Information at this time is limited, but it has been established that 27 students and a teacher have taken ill and been transferred to hospital.

According to ITV, police received reports from the school at approximately 12.30 pm and emergency services where immediately dispatched to the scene.

Commenting on the shocking incident, a spokesperson for North Yorkshire police said authorities were currently attempting to establish the cause of the individuals' collapse and assert that the safety of students and staff alike are of the highest priority.
