Shekira Farrell and her mum were out shopping in a beauty supply store when they happened across the nicest store assistant they could find.

Shekira’s son Jaiden was alongside his mum and grandmother, but the youngster who suffers with autism, became tired and restless.

Beginning to enter meltdown mode, a store assistant duly came over to Jaiden, offering to play with him until Shekira had finished her shopping.

The kind-hearted lady began helping Jaiden try on different types of sunglasses, taking photos for him, pretending he was modelling the accessories.

Jaiden was delighted to meet a new friend, but Shekira was overjoyed to have met someone with total compassion.

It was the first time Mum had come across a person who didn’t judge or stare at her son’s tantrums, instead finding someone who understood.

“I've never experienced anything like that in my 6 years of being an Autism parent. And I can't explain how grateful I was.”

Jaiden was having so much fun that he didn’t want to leave when his mum was finished shopping, and moreover, Shekira was also overwhelmed.

“Jaiden cried when we had to leave, but he gave her a hug and told her he would miss his new friend. We all gave her a hug.”

This story has completely warmed our hearts; it’s nice to be nice. We never know what battles others are facing.
