When Jennen Johnson from Toronto was told that she only had about four years to live, she decided to do something about it.
The 42-year-old mum-of-one was diagnosed with kidney failure, and was told that if she didn't get a transplant soon her life expectancy would be cut short.
Determined to stick around for her 12-year-old daughter, Jenna, who did not have much faith in the transplant list, decided to take matters into her own hands.

Placing an ad in Now magazine, the mum wrote:
“Mother of a 12-year-old daughter desperately looking for a generous O blood type willing to get tested and possibly donate a kidney to save my life. If seriously interested in helping me continue to be a mom to my daughter for the years to come, please contact [me].”
And someone did!
Christi Nolan, 37, spotted the ad and wanted to help the mum, so she got in touch.
Following a few tests it was confirmed that Christi was an exact match, and the transplant went ahead.
According to GlobalNews, both women are recovering in hospital and are said to be best friends now!
We're so glad to hear the transplant was a success, and we're in awe of Christi for her incredible gesture.
