Anne Maguire (61), a teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds has died after she was stabbed at the school earlier today.
A 15 year-old male student has been arrested and is currently being detained by police as they continue their investigation.
An ambulance was called for the teacher by members of staff while the police followed shortly afterwards.
Mrs. Maguire was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly afterwards.
Students at the school have taken to Twitter to grieve for the teacher.
The West Yorkshire Police have assured parents and students that this was an isolated incident and there is currently no immediate danger to any staff or students at the school: "There is no ongoing risk to pupils or staff at the school."
