When we drop our children off to school each day, we believe that we are sending them to the best place possible to prepare them for life – which is why we would be feeling equally as frustrated as this mother if we made the same revelation.

A British mum has shared her disappointment and disbelief after receiving a note full of misspellings home from her 10-year-old son’s teacher.

The mother, known only as Amanda, took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the note she received, stating that her son’s class would be getting spelling tests in preparation for their May exams. The teacher then proceeded to share a number of words that they expected the child to be able to spell.

It’s quite clear that this teacher forgot to proof-read the letter however, as it is absolutely riddled with mistakes. As well as mistaking the word ‘work’ for ‘week’, the teacher also used ‘you’ instead of ‘your’, and spelled the words ‘immediately’ and ‘sincerely’ wrong.

Sharing the note to Twitter, Amanda’s disillusionment was clear as she wrote: “My son has spellings from school that they want him to learn. I’m currently holding my head and sighing.”

Amanda wasn’t the only one shocked by what she saw – her post was re-tweeted 2,000 times, with many expressing their disbelief over the misspellings.

Let’s hope the teacher gives notes a check over in future, to save the blushes!
