We’ve all been there: it’s P.E. day and our children are doing just about everything from faking a high temperature to rolling around on the floor to get out of it.

It’s a universal thing, which has been illustrated perfectly by one mum’s hilarious note and subsequent Facebook post.

The UK mum, simply referred to as Sam, took to her social media channels this week to share what happened when her daughter Olivia asked her to write a note to get her out of her physical education class that day.

Rather than give in to her mischievous daughter, however, Sam decided to help Olivia tackle her hatred of activities with a cheeky trick of her own.

Sam penned a letter declaring Olivia to be “perfectly fit” to participate in the class, and accused her of suffering from nothing more than “a severe case of Bone-idle-itus”. In a move that was sure to have angered her daughter, Sam even requested that she be given “a few extra laps” to ward off the cold that she had been complaining of!

Clearly Olivia wasn’t in on the joke, as Sam wrote at the very end of the letter: “Please return to Olivia after reading.”

While we’ve seen some pretty hilarious letters from kids of late, this mum’s offering has to go down as one of the best jokes we’ve heard of so far this year.

We bet Sam got into a lot of trouble with Olivia when she got home!
