A fifteen-year-old autistic boy will reinforce your faith in humanity as he donated crayons and books for a wonderful reason.
Carter Crockett was sitting in a local restaurant one day, eating with his mum when he noticed a poster for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Immediately intrigued he asked his mum what happens at this particular hospital, when his mum explained that the children were poorly due to cancer diagnosis.
Mum Patti had assumed that would be the end of it, but she was surprised when Carter told his mum he wanted to "bring some colour into their lives".
Carter was compelled to help other children because he felt bad they have to stay in hospital.
So with the help of his mum and his little sister, who also suffers with autism, Carter got to work sourcing crayons and colouring books to donate to the hospital.
Moreover, the teen took to social media making a live plea on Facebook for donations.
For anyone familiar with autistic children, it is quite difficult for them to be outside of their comfort zone, making Carter's plea a significant act of empathy.
And shortly after the teen's plea, the family were inundated with donations from family and friends, with their local restaurant chipping in too.
Carter himself will also be travelling to the hospital to hand over the donations with his family, which includes 15K crayons and 1,500 colouring books.
This is one teen that has put us all to shame. Well done Carter - you're a super guy, and an excellent role model to other teens.
