As mums, it is up to us to protect our kids from the bad things in life.

However, while we all try our best to do so, it is impossible to shield them from everything, like bullying.

Bullying is one of those things that can happen to anyone; big, small, shy or outgoing, bullies are relentless and no one is immune to them.

Something Brooke Hendy has experience of first-hand.

When her six-year-old daughter, Reese, started school last year, the youngster absolutely loved going in.

Reese had been excited to start big school but when girls in her class started being mean to her, she pleaded with her mum not to send her in.

Talking to Kidspot, Brooke explained that she had to do something to help her young daughter, which is where the fairies come in.

The mum-of-two put a fairy sticker on her little girl’s nail in the middle of the night.

When Reese woke up, Brooke explained that the fairies had finally found a way to show that they were looking down on her.

“I said if she was feeling down at school to just look at her little fairy friend and know that she is a part of something bigger; to not care about what the others thought and know that she was loved and someone was always there watching out for her no matter what.”

The Australian mum went on to explain that after placing the sticker on her daughter’s nail she noticed Reese’s confidence start to grow.

While Brooke admits that the sticker won’t stop the bullying, it gave her little girl something positive to focus on.
