Do you ever go to the library, not sure which book you're looking for, but with a vague image of the cover in your mind?
Many of us have been guilty of doing so, and librarians and bookstore staff have taken notice.
Twitter user Bart Lieb shared a picture from Framingham Public Library in Massachusetts featuring a placard that reads 'I don't remember the title, but the cover was red'... above a whole bookshelf brimming with red books.
"When libraries troll their patrons," he aptly captioned the snap.

Um, we feel called out right now.
The response on social media was overwhelming, with Bart's tweet garnering over 100,000 likes!
Bibliophiles enjoyed it so much that they shared their own tales of coloured covers.

Lolz my library did this too. I took a photo because we used to get this question all the time when I worked at a bookstore. pic.twitter.com/QDeZ8hvG0W

My local library did this as a display recently and it’s my everything. pic.twitter.com/RXrlZcLOOh

My proudest moment was working in an episcopal library of 200,000 books, someone asked for 'that book about bishops with a yellow cover' and I got it straight away *even though it was purple*

Not unlike working in a record store (millennials: these were places that sold music recorded onto compact discs that you would play individually). “What’s that song on the radio that goes hmmm hmmm do do do whaa whaa”

Let's pour one out for everyone working at libraries or bookstores!
Have you ever been guilty of this bookstore crime, mums?
