Lions are known for their vicious traits, but we've become accustomed to them being placid and chilled behind bars.
But this little girl got a scary reminder of their true nature.
The child and the beast stand face-to-face at a zoo - with a layer of protective glass between them.
The curious girl and the enormous lion eyeball one another and are less than a metre apart.
She then blows him a kiss.
But within seconds, the king of the jungle starts to sneer and rises up on to his back legs before aggressively clawing at the glass.
Although she appears to be shocked, the youngster stands her ground and bravely keeps her two hands on the glass.
The footage was posted on Imgur and one viewer commented: “That little girl is braver than me. I'd have run away screaming.”
Meanwhile, another noted: “That kid has nerves of steel.”
Another poster NotMe222 had a lighter response. “Also my reaction being kissed by a girl for the first time.”
