Attitudes to public breastfeeding are slowly improving.

That’s partly thanks to initiatives such as the ‘breastfeeding welcome here mark’, which businesses are being encouraged to place on their store windows.

But we still have a long way to go, and this photo series by photographer Victor Castro for clothing collection Cloak is proof of that.

“Public breastfeeding continues to be a widespread and controversial conversation in written media,” Cloak’s creative director, Maggie Cely told Cosmopolitan.

“What lacks, we think, is photography that demonstrates the courage and resilience of those who choose to breastfeed in public, and do so as they resume work and daily life.”

The beautiful photo series captures both those who cover up to avoid offending, and those who just don't give a f**k. Hopefully the snaps will help people to realise that breastfeeding is a completely natural, and beautiful, thing.

No mum should ever have to do this...

And unless it's cold out, this either

How many people grab a bite to eat when waiting for their train? Babies get hungry too.

Some mums are throwing caution to the wind and feeding openly wherever they happen to be: At the bus-stop...

Having a coffee...

In the taxi on the way home...
