A 15-year-old has been arrested following the death of a seven-year-old girl in York, police have confirmed.
Authorities are still investigating the tragic incident which occurred yesterday afternoon.

The youngster, who was named locally as Katie, was found with life-threatening injuries in a field, close to a house in Woodthorpe, York.
She sadly passed away in York District Hospital some time later.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire police said: “Officers attended and, upon visiting a scene nearby, they found a seven-year-old girl with life-threatening injuries.
"An ambulance attended and the girl was taken to York district hospital, where she sadly died a short time later."
“A 15-year-old girl has been arrested in connection with the incident. She remains in police custody for questioning," the statement continued.
"Officers remain at the scene while the investigation to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death of the girl continues.”
