Public breastfeeding has unfortunately proven time and time again to be a contentious issue in countries all over the world, but the following story might just give you a little bit of relief.
Everyone is talking about YouTubers ‘Trollstation’ this week, after their eye-opening breastfeeding social media experiment on London’s Tube.
In the video, a man is seen getting onto a train and sitting down, then growing irritated after copping sight of a woman breastfeeding her baby two seats down.
The man then turns to the mother and says of her breastfeeding: “I’m not being argumentative or anything, but I feel a little bit uncomfortable about it.”
As she retaliates, the man is seen growing more and more irate, and this is when their fellow passengers start to pitch in. When they hear the man asking the woman to switch carriages, they stand up for the mother, insisting that it is her right to feed her child and suggesting that he should perhaps be the one to switch carriages.
When the man begins to get particularly ‘aggressive’, a fellow passenger stands up and sits between him and the mother in a protective move.
While it may take a minute for the passengers to react to this pre-planned social experiment, their support of the breastfeeding mother will restore your faith in humanity just a little.
