There is no current cure for AMD but there are treatments which can delay its progression and even improve vision. Treatment will depend on how advanced the disease is and if it is in its early (dry) form or in the more advanced (wet) form that leads to serious vision loss. There is some research which suggests that a high dose formulation of Zinc and certain antioxidants can reduce the advancement of AMD.

Wet AMD can be treated with laser surgery, photodynamic treatment, and injections into the eye. However, none of these treatments are a cure for wet AMD and the disease and loss of vision may progress regardless of treatment.

Your G.P. or ophthalmologist will be able to prescribe the best treatment for you.
