Recently, doctors in India claimed to have delivered the ‘heaviest female infant ever born’ in the country, and the Hilton family in Kansas, can say that their tot was right up there in contention for the male US title.

According to reports this morning, staff at Hutchinson Medical Centre were left ‘shocked’ when Baby Moses William Hilton entered the world weighing a whopping 14.4 pounds, and measuring 22 inches in length.

The staff told ABC’s Kake.com that the tot was ‘double’ the size they expect for a baby delivered at the hospital – and Moses was actually born 11 days early!

Mum Gina recalled the moment of Moses’ birth, on 2nd June: “When they took him out, the nurse said, ‘It’s a mini sumo wrestler.’ I said, ‘Why?’ Then, they showed me him and I was like, ‘That is a sumo wrestler!’”

Naturally, Moses’ size was surprising to Gina and her family, particularly as her two older daughters weighed nine pounds each.

Moses is still in hospital, as he is reportedly dealing with blood sugar issues and jaundice, but it is hoped that he will be discharged soon and cleared to make his first journey home.

We’re wishing Moses and his family all the best.
