Imagine being the victim of a hit-and-run with your two tiny tots in the back seat?

That’s how it was for mum Coty Vincent, whose twins were in her rental car at the time it was hit.

But that’s not the story. The story is what happened next.

John Goodlett, an employee from Enterprise Rent-A-Car came to help the distressed mother, and his act of kindness touched her so much that she told Love What Matters her story via a heartwarming Facebook post.

“This is John and he works at Enterprise,” Coty’s post began. “He’s also a twin and his twin sister is his best friend. While he helped me with my rental due to a hit and run accident, he held one of my twin sons as I don’t have a double stroller.”

“One of the most compassionate and caring people I’ve ever met,” she wrote. “We need more people like John who go that extra step.”

Touchingly, she finished the post with a snippet of advice: “Be a John.”

While it might not seem like a big gesture, it meant the world to Coty.

“As a mom of twins, simple gestures go a long way so it was a great feeling that John recognised I needed help," he told Babble. He also said that, having a twin sister he counts as his best friend, he just "recognised that she needed help."

The post has been shared over 22,000 times, with many commenters praising John for his act of kindness.

However, humble John insists he was “just doing my job.”

What a guy. Coty is right – we need more Johns! Enterprise have since arranged for Coty to have a fab double-stroller, on them. Nice!
