Ever thought that being a mum seems like a full time job? Well it is...actually it's the equivalent on two and a half full time jobs.

A recent survey of 2,000 American mothers of children aged between five and twelve showed that mums really are never off the clock.

The average start time of a mum is 6.23 am and they get to clock off after completing career and family related activities at about 8.30 pm, and that doesn't even include late night awakenings.

We are not surprised.

Fourteen hours a day seems crazy for a full time job, but imagine being asked to work seven days a week, 365 days a year?! That's what a mama bear does.

In total that means that mums work on average of 98 hours a week- that the equivalent of two and a half working weeks. The survey also found that mums get an average of one hour and seven minutes to themselves- far less than a lunch break.

No wonder we're exhausted.

The survey, conducted by the juice company Welch's, found that busy mums relay on certain 'lifesavers' to get them through the day.

“The results of the survey highlight just how demanding the role of mom can be and the non-stop barrage of tasks it consists of,” a Welch's spokeswoman told Yahoo.

The list of lifesaver is something that every mum is familiar with; wet wipes, yoga pants and a babysitter you can really trust, as well as iPads, Netflix, coffee, napping and an effective angry voice all feature in the top things that mums can't do without.

If we ever needed proof that all mums are superheroes, it's this.
