This is so, SO amazing.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the US and travel booking site Expedia recently joined forces to launch the Dream Adventures programme, where young patients can experience their dreams through an incredible virtual reality installation set up on-site in the hospital.

And the video showing these gorgeous kids experiencing the pilot programme made us cry BUCKETS of happy tears. You know the ones where you’re sobbing and hiccupping but you’re also really happy?

In the beautiful vid, live-streamed by Expedia employees who are filming the dream locations with their 360° cameras, little boy Sagr digs up fossils in Talampaya National Park, Argentina, while smiley Kiara runs with wild horses in Córdoba.

And the way the room is set up is totally immersive, making the kids feel like they’re actually there – just amazing!

“A lot of the children at St. Jude Research Hospital are there for months, or maybe even years and they’re not able to go out and see different parts of the world,” Sara, the Expedia employee involved in Kiara’s virtual reality experience, said. “This experience allows me to bring Kiara’s dream to her from thousands of miles away.”

And judging by the look of wonder on the children’s faces, it’s safe to say St. Jude and Expedia pulled it off wonderfully.
