Why is the concerned dad the bad guy?

Peter Andre has hit the headlines recently for speaking out against his ex-wife Katie Price and vilifying her behaviour on reality TV show Celebrity Big Brother.

Concerned that the two children he shares with the glamour model will be subjected to ridicule as a result of their mum’s controversial conversation, the 41-year-old dad has banned the show from being watched, discussed or even mentioned in his home.

And shockingly, it's him, not Katie, who has come in for criticism over this!

Parents were quick to say that nine-year-old Junior and seven-year-old Princess were too young to watch the show anyway, thereby questioning how their mother's conduct could possibly affect them, but I think these parents are slightly missing the point here.

Banning the show from his home is the only thing Peter can do to ensure he’s played a role in shielding his children from their mother’s colourful language, explicit discussion and embarrassing innuendo, but the thing is, parents talk and kids hear.

Yes, his children and other children may not be directly exposed to Katie Price’s questionable revelations on the programme, but their parents are.

And honestly, how many times have we heard of children echoing their parents less-than-flattering comments in the school playground? Exactly.

From where I’m standing, what Peter really wants is for his ex-wife to show a little decorum, keep less-than-edifying comments about her sexploits to a minimum and consider the ramifications such candour can have on her offspring, but he can’t.

Basically, the dad-of-two can’t stop his children's mother from being who she is, so the next best step is to ensure his kids never meet 'CBB Katie' .

At least not on his watch.

And what's wrong with that?
