Getting your first period can be a pretty traumatic experience, and for many young girls it can also be an embarrassing time.
12-year-old Brooke Lee recently got her first period, and her family were so excited for her... so they had a party.
A period party to be precise.
There were tampons galore wrapped in red and white paper, and even a cake that read "Congrats on your Period".
What a cool family!
One thing that surprised us was the fact that Brooke did not seem at all embarrassed by the party, and appeared to be really enjoying herself.

Brooke's cousin tweeted out some pictures from the period party, and they have been retweeted and liked more than 20,000 times.
