Khali Best, who plays Dexter Hartman on the soap EastEnders has been suspended for three months it has been reported.

The actor was said to have been pulled aside by executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins to talk about his behaviour both backstage on the show, and outside of work hours.

A source for the soap said: “We won’t go into details but his conduct outside of work has not been good at all and is a threat to the show ... Khali has been fined in the past for not turning up to work on time and his behaviour has worsened recently, so much so that Dominic thought enough was enough. He knew he had to be tough on Khali to send out a clear message to both him and the rest of the cast that they have a duty as an EastEnders employee to behave in a certain way.”

Khali won a best newcomer award for his portrayal of Dexter at this year’s National TV Awards.
