While most of us would assume that having famous parents would mean that we would never have to worry about money, this isn’t the case for Sting’s children.

The father-of-six has said that his children won’t be inheriting a huge sum of money after he dies, because he’ll be spending all of his £180 million fortune: “I told them there won't be much money left because we are spending it. We have a lot of commitments. What comes in we spend, and there isn't much left."

The singer claims that he doesn’t want "to leave them trust funds that are albatrosses round their necks.

"They have to work. All my kids know that and they rarely ask me for anything, which I appreciate.

"Obviously, if they were in trouble I would help them, but I've never really had to do that. They have this work ethic that makes them want to succeed on their own merit."

Simon Cowell has made similar claims about his son, saying that he would be donating his millions to charity rather than his child. However, it seems he may have changed his mind now that his son has actually been born. He told a UK newspaper recently that “In time he`s going to inherit my business. That`s certainly the plan”.
